The vibrometer is also known as a vibration pencil or a level 1 or global values data collector. In our vibration analysis course, you can see more information about Vibration measuring instruments.

In visual inspections for predictive maintenance, vibrometers are used as a portable device to obtain readings of the global value of vibration in asset components. Vibration is generally measured in bearings or bearings of rotating machinery, although vibration measurement is also done in reciprocating machinery, in base and foundations, pipes, heat exchangers, structures, and tanks.

Vibrometers normally have a screen to display the overall vibration value. Some of them can store data, allowing measurement routes to be uploaded and vibration data downloaded to the computer. There are vibrometers that have integrated temperature sensors to optimize the reading of parameters.
