An industrial plant is a facility or a production place that is made up of different units interrelated with each other and called sections. According to ISO 14224, the plant is level 4 of the asset hierarchy taxonomy.

There are two options to create a plant in Power-MI:

1) Accessing the "New plant" button found in the ASSETS tab, section "Manual creation of the asset hierarchy".

2) Accessing the menu at the bottom right

To create a new plant it is necessary to provide the name and type of the plant. The description, address information and a photo of it are optional. Once the plant is created, it is possible to add sections, sub-sections and assets.
